CMCA runs entirely on the energy and time of volunteers. Every event, program, and service we offer exists because community members show up and make it happen.
Whether you have two hours a month or twenty, whether you are a seasoned professional or a student — there is a meaningful role for you.

Volunteer Roles
We are always looking for volunteers in following:
Event organizer
Help plan, set up, and run CMCA events including Naadam, Varies by event Role Description Time commitment children's parties, and community dinners (Flexible)
Newcomer welcome buddy
Be a friendly first contact for newly arrived Mongolians — share your experience and help them navigate Calgary (Flexible)
Language class assistant
Support Mongolian language classes for children or adults at our language classes (Ongoing)
Communications helper
Write or translate content for social media, newsletters, and the website in English and/or Mongolian (Varies)
Youth activity leader
Organize games, sports, arts, or educational activities for children and teens (Seasonal)
Sports and arts coordinator
Help organize traditional Mongolian sports competitions or cultural performance events (Event-based)
Administrative support
Assist with data entry, member records, scheduling, and correspondence (Flexible)
Photography and media
Document CMCA events and provide photos for the website and social media (Event-based)

What Volunteers Receive

Free CMCA membership for the duration of your volunteer term and Invitation to CMCA volunteer recognition events
Volunteer Hours
Under CMCA's charter, 20 or more volunteer hours per year counts in lieu of a paid membership fee.
